Beginning.

At 4:20am I woke up - clear, sober, awake.
In the last dregs of sleep I stood there naked for a moment deciding on clothing, then found a sweatshirt and went and put on a kettle for coffee.

Sitting up in bed, right now, I'm driven. *Interested* in starting...a series of conversations. About technology and communication and connection and intimacy.

I want a good name for it. I think names are important, for this sort of thing. I believe, from experience, that a name ties the parts together as a body of work. (And I'm laughing at myself now, having come to that thought independently of the notion of a "book".)

What I want, then, is to begin systematically writing about how we - how I, and the people I care about - communicate and nurture basic human connection via technology and the Internet. (As opposed for example to via sitting across a table in person talking and laughing.) Facebook, email, voicemail; friendship, loneliness, intimacy.
